LY-9C EYE PD METER

Compared to the traditional PD ruler, the digital eye PD meter offers the convenience of obtaining PD data within a few seconds without requiring a light pen.

The steps for measuring with an eye PD meter are as follows

1. First, adjust the gaze distance key to the gaze distance value of ∞ or the position marked ▲ at 30mm, depending on whether you are measuring the distance pupil distance or near pupil distance.

2. Turn on the power switch.

3. Place the forehead and bridge of the nose of the pupil distance meter against the patient's forehead and bridge of the nose.

4. Instruct the patient to focus on the green bright light spot inside.

5. The examiner observes the reflective bright spot on the pupil of the affected eye through the observation window and adjusts the left and right PD measuring keys to align the PD pointers with the corneal reflective bright spots of both eyes.

6. Read the value displayed in the value display window. The R value represents the distance from the center of the bridge of the nose to the center of the pupil of the right eye, indicating the right eye pupil distance. The L value represents the distance from the center of the bridge of the nose to the center of the pupil of the left eye, indicating the left eye pupil distance. The value indicated in the middle represents the distance between the pupils of the two eyes, which is the interpupillary distance. The unit of measurement is millimeters (mm).

7. If you need to measure the monocular interpupillary distance for strabismus eyes, you can adjust the instrument accordingly. Use the far part to observe the pupil and the near part to read the PD value.

8. By using the diopter switch key, you can measure with multifocal glasses. Use the far part to observe the pupil and the near part to read the PD value.

9. Switch the PD/VD key to measure the distance between the corneas.
